    1. The Mind of Mr Soames (1961) a story of a man who does not reach consciousness until the age of thirty and of the arguments about how best to educate him. The moral issues are dealt with quite sensitively without the easy recourse to Paranoia.

    3. A good thought experiment but not a good book. Starts off interesting enough about a 30 year old man who was born unconscious and has been so ever since. He has been kept alive and various techniques have kept him from having too much muscle entropy. When a chinese doctor who has had success with studying and altering the conscious of dogs through brain surgery discovers the case suddenly a plan starts to develop.
