    1. top2bottomreviews.wordpressFrom Top2Bottom ReviewsReview:Tricks and Treats is a single authored anthology filled with everything from romance, to sit on the edge of your seat horror stories that will make sure you’re not sitting alone in the dark. An interesting thing about this book was that each and every story immediately captured and kept my attention. All twenty stories were not only creative and interesting; all of the characters were well written and highly addictive to read about as we [...]

    2. Yes, as Michael Cornelius reminds us in the introduction to this collection, we have all been afraid, and "we are going to be afraid again, at some point in our lives." For some of us, those fears will be "scary shadows, stormy nights, the creaking of a rusty iron gate. Loud voices. Sirens . . . Fear is perhaps the great universal experience" (1). As for romance in a crazy world--is he right, there are "few things scarier than falling in love" (3)? Think of how it felt to fall in love for the fi [...]

    3. 4.5 starsInteresting collection of short stories.Horror, romance, and humorThere are all types of stories in here, and most of them are not romance, with few happy ending stories. Many stories involve middle aged men going through midlife crisis, or relationship crisis with husbands or long term partners. However, there are some stories involving teenagers or college students. Most stories happen around present day, but some happen in the past. Some stories are really short but still manage to be [...]

    4. I loved this short story book. I read one or two a day--during my free time. Cornelius tells a story in a particular voice that fits him like a nice suit and tie(bow perhaps?). He conjures the readers spirit so well that the reader runs ahead to prove that he or she knows the next character's fate. Sometimes Cornelius provides the answer, more often not. The stories are likeable because Cornelius has a master voice also that is trained to use the lilt of his voice so he starts the narratives in [...]

    5. When I'm not reading M/M, my favourite books to read are always horror stories so I was excited to try this anthology which combines them both. I was not at all disappointed. Each of the stories is well-written with characters you can come to care about in just a few pages. The plots range from full-out, in-your-face horror to my personal preference - that creepy, insiduous kind of horror that relies on your imagination joining the party and totally freaking you out! There wasn't a bad story in [...]

    6. I really like this! There are 20 different stories in here and there is something for everyone, but the author is good at having little twists to the end, which I like. I think my favorites stories where the ones, like one called "Getting a Life," that really show a sense of humor. There may be a little less romance in here that you might think - the most romantic stories tend to end badly, except for maybe "Apocalypse. Now?" which is another funny piece, but the pace and the humor made this ver [...]

    7. This is a collection of 20 short stories by the same author. Like the title suggests, they all revolve around horror and they're a pretty good collection of that, some are creepy and some are really frightening. I thought that they were all good, but if there had been some more of the romance promised in the title I would have given this book 5 stars. As it is now it's a good horror anthology and if you read it as such and don't start reading expecting romance, then you might like it a bit more [...]

    8. This was a nice read Some of the stories were REALLY good A couple I didn't get But all in all I would recommend
