    1. A valid criticism of this book might be that Heimlich spends a lot of it tooting his own horn. But, if anyone deserves to do so, it is the inventor and disseminator of the Heimlich maneuver!     3. I seriously thought I'd read a few pages of this book and likely get bored. I was surprised to find that I couldn't put it down! The idea of reading it intrigued me, as I usually enjoy biographies. But I wasn't convinced the content would truly interest me. Dr. Heimlich tells of his life and experiences, including his top secret work in the military. I was quite interested in what he had to say regarding his medical inventions and successes.
