    1. I never thought much about steel, but I was transfixed with this book. Maybe it's because I knew so little about the alloy and the process needed to make it, or maybe it's how Stoddard presented the information but I could not stop reading. **I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review**

    2. I began reading to gain insight into the economic woes of America's industrial heartland. I finished with huge appreciation for steel, the material itself, and seeing echoes of the steel industry's missteps in almost every mature industry I can think of.
