    1. RATING 4.5 STARSQuanta is book two in the Shadow Ravens series by Lola Dodge and Aileen Erin. This book was generously provided to me in exchange for an honest review by NetGalley, Inscribe Digital and by the authors. This book was one crazy ride. Altair Orpheus is the son of a prominent Senator who has high aspirations for his son. At a young age, though, Altair, or Tair, became disillusioned with his life. He lives in a society that your status is determined by the tattoo you wear. There is a s [...]

    2. Age Rating: Swearing, implication of rape and torture. (We know it happened even though it happens off screen.)The Good:I liked how Quanta saw the future and the past. I've never read anything like it! She sees time ghosts, people in the space she's in or connected to an object or person. Sometimes it was jarring having her visions in present tense and the rest in past, but that might have been the point. A lot of thought went into her powers. We get to see how the elite live through Altair. They [...]

    3. I kindly received this ARC from INscribe Digital via NG in return for an honest review!"I'd been born a Red Helix, but I'd chosen to be a Shadow Raven. A rebel, fighting against Doctor Nagi, his immortal Seligo, and everything they stood for. Usually."Rating: 3.5 quantum stars. Confession time! I actually didn't realize that this was book 2 of the shadow ravens series. Book #1 is Cipher (The Shadow Ravens #1) However, jumping straight into book 2 didn't ruin anything for me, the author made it r [...]

    4. "One way or another, Altair Orpheus was going to destroy me." Quanta was absolutely amazing! Filled with lots of action, great characters and a fantastic romance.A prisoner, used for her gift of seeing the future. Quanta has no hopes of ever getting out alive. Until Altair Orpheus, a geneticist joins the team of researchers assignment to Quanta. Quanta can't see anything about the boy's past or future, until they touch. With a rush of emotions, Quanta gains new powers with Tair around, as well a [...]

    5. functioninginsanity.c I was beyond excited to receive and ARC for review, already had it pre-ordered but getting it early just means I can enjoy it that much sooner. And enjoy it I did.Rating: 5 Cupcakes Quanta is the second book in The Shadow Ravens series, this book is written by Lola Dodge. Now you can read it alone, the story holds it's own but it will have some spoilers of things mentioned that happened in book one, Cipher. So be warned there. That's it. Same world but this time we follow t [...]

    6. Confession: I had no idea Quanta was the second book in the Shadow Ravens series until after I got accepted to read it. Woops. That being said, I think it works well as a standalone, except now I want to read Cipher to see how her story goes. Anyway.I was pleasantly surprised by this book. At first I thought it would be a solid 3 stars, but the second half of Quanta is what really won me over.Unfortunately I wasn’t able to read this book as quickly as I was hoping to. I read a few pages a day [...]

    7. NetGalley. Thanks for the copy. Remember video games? Super Mario and all of that? When a person reaches a level but fail to get through it, they can always go back to a certain checkpoint. Well, the book is sort of like that. It is complicated, and it involves precognition, time traveling, and romance. Also, we have Quanta, the trapped but also brave heroine, who is firstmost trying to survive and then trying to escape her captors once she meets Altair Orpheus. The main character and one of the [...]

    8. I received an ARC through NetGalley.Quanta was kind of crazy! I totally did not expect most of that to go down. For the past ten years, Quanta has been a prisoner and lab rat. She's a Red Helix with the very rare gift of clairvoyance. She can see the past and future after glimpsing the "timeghost" of a person, place, or thing. This makes her a very powerful asset to those who wish to take down the Shadow Ravens, as she spent ten years with them as well. Too bad that Quanta isn't going to give up [...]

    9. Quanta is book two in The Shadow Ravens series. Our leading lady is Quanta, a Red Helix, a person with powers that according to the government shouldn't be alive. She's been imprisoned for years by them, and is constantly getting tested in attempts to duplicate her abilities. You see, Quanta is able to see into the future, including all of the possible outcomes that comes with free will. To keep herself alive she's feeding the Seligo as little information as possible so she's deemed still useful [...]

    10. I really enjoyed Quanta, by Lola Dodge. I only saw the first two sentences of the description on NetGalley, and added it to my TBR pile. The writing is tense, and the action fast-paced. I wasn’t aware from the description that this was the second book in a series, but at no time did I feel I couldn’t follow the story. I read the whole book in about six hours. There is a sadistic lab researcher that is Snidely Whiplash-level clichéd, but the rest of the characters are well drawn, and their m [...]

    11. This is the second book in a series, but can be read as a stand alone. The story is just so wild and crazy, completely unpredictable, completely spellbinding. I was trying to keep up to the action, while at the same time trying to read faster and find out what happens next.Totally unique story and characters, unlike anything I've ever read. And I can't describe it in any other way than spellbinding. amazing!

    12. 6/45 books read in 2017.This second book of the series had all the success ingredients (romance, technology, smarts, & badassery) and it also had me sitting on the edge of my seat. It has some twists and turns which made it nail biting at times. I read it in one night (granted I couldn't sleep because of my throat), so it was definitely good. Shadow Ravens #3, here I come!! :)

    13. Quanta was absolutely amazing! Like Cipher, the first book, this second novel in the Shadow Raven's series has great characters and a superb story line.Quanta's a prisoner kidnapped at an early age from the Shadow Raven's secret headquarters. She's used for her gift of seeing the future. Quanta has no hopes of ever getting out alive. Until Altair Orpheus, a geneticist joins the team of researchers assigned to Quanta. Quanta can't see anything about the boy's past or future, until they touch. Wit [...]

    14. I hadn't planned to read the other Shadow Ravens books because they weren't by Aileen Erin and they weren't centered on Cipher. I'm so happy I read Quanta! The whole book was really great and I'm totally going to read books 3+4. Because Cipher isn't in the rest of the series, I keep wanting to say that THIS is book one. Quanta was great because we got a better look at all the futuristic technology. Ordering babies from a catalog? Glowing green and yellow eyes? Crazy!!! I also liked the connectio [...]

    15. What an amazing story. One of the few cases where the second is better than the first. Lola Dodge did a great job telling the future through a clairvoyant yet keeping you guessing along the way. I really liked the way the characters from the first book, Knight and Emma, were brought into Quanta's story. Ready for the next book.

    16. It was ok.First book in series, Cipher was a much different book than Quanta. Cipher and Quanta are Red Helix. They are both Shadow Ravens, and they both need saved. Cipher was much lighter in content and a fun little read. Quanta is much darker in the majority of the story. My heart broke for her. The despair was palpable.I am done with this series.

    17. Thank you to Netgalley & the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!Find this review and more on my blog The Rest Is Still Unwritten!Quanta by Lola Dodge is the second novel in The Shadow Ravens series and introduces readers to a brand new heroine and a new branch of this dynamite series that is guaranteed to have you eagerly turning the pages and desperately wanting more.Having spent most of her life imprisoned thanks to her ability to see the f [...]

    18. I’d like to start this review by saying that before reading this book, I hadn’t read the first book in the series, Cipher. Now, while Quanta focuses on a different character whose story ties into the world and overall “defeat the evil hierarchy” plot that we’re introduced to in Cipher (from what I gather), I will admit that I feel like I lost some basic world-building by not reading the first book, but I don’t feel like Quanta can’t be read on its own without first reading Cipher; [...]

    19. I received an ARC Netgalley in return for an honest review.Okay. This book is actually good. And just like the second book, its kinda interesting enough for me until the very end. What I just don't like about this book is how the main characters are again, Paired. It just spoils the romance between the two character. I don't know if half of the reason why they felt connected and in love with each other is because they are genetically paired, or if it is the genuine attraction and feelings that t [...]

    20. This series just keeps pulling me in more and more! Like I said before, so far, it reminds me of Divergent in a lot of ways. With the first book, it was only the best ways. In this one, it’s not necessarily the same way. Please don’t read that as anything bad because it’s not. What I’m trying to say is that I found myself wanting to shake Quanta a whole lot more often than I wanted to shake Cipher! Quite honestly, though, that’s an excellent thing. You don’t get angry with a characte [...]

    21. Which pleasure to get back to the universe of the Seligos and Red Helix. I had really liked Cipher, there I completely melted for Quanta which I devoured. This book really have something more which filled my year of waiting. It's more intense, more poignant, more futuristic and who would not melt for Quanta and Tair? This couple is quite simply adorable, I appreciated to follow the evolution of their romance, the obstacles that they must surmount and especially that everything is not very beauti [...]

    22. The second Shadow Ravens adventure is a fast, furious and thrilling ride. If you haven’t read the first book (Cipher) don’t worry – this book has new characters, a new setting and a new author as we fall deep into the heart of the creepy Seligo world. The world building in this book is just enough to get you along introducing the idea of the immortal Seligo who control everything, the unstable Red Helixs who threaten to undermine everything and the rest of the tattooed Helix folk who actua [...]

    23. Firstly, although this is noted as Book 2 in the series, I didn't feel as though I missed out by not reading Book 1 (which is by a different author). That said, it's possible that the world building experience might be enhanced by reading book 1, but I think that the author does a pretty good job of setting the scene.I have to say, this is a great story. The plot line is intriguing, the pacing is good and the characters are complex. That, coupled with the threat and sense of hopelessness which i [...]

    24. Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for a chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review.Publish date: 13th October 2015Full review can also be found on: Paein and Ms4Tune’s Book BlogI was so excited when I found this on netgalley, being that I was waiting (im)patiently for it. I had to recap the end of the last book in the security queue at Aberdeen airport so that I could remember what had happened before, but it was a short recap and I remembered readily and then I dove rig [...]

    26. This is a fairly intense read with many dark shadows and a beacon of hope, which doesn't always glimmer as bright as it could. Quanta is stuck in a dark place. Her prison appears comfortable enough, but her roll as a guinea pig leaves her at the hands of ruthless scientists for years. There's a lot of violence in this story, so younger readers will want to be aware of that. I enjoyed the book. Despite her horrid predicament, Quanta doesn't lose her fight or her soul. She deals with things the be [...]
