Geza Roheim provides a concise and usable approach to build an anthropology from the psychoanalytic perspective in his The Origin and Function of Culture 1943 and Psychoanalysis and Anthropology 1950. His psychoanalysis isn't quite the same as Freud though. He is in the tradition of the "English school" of object relations of Melanie Klein, who he cites extensively.
