    1. A solid collection. Martin's people feel "real." I recognize them, sympathize with them, and because of that usually end up rooting for them.My favorite story in the collection was probably "Slipping Through the Cracks." It left me frustrated because I felt like it ended too abruptly, but then it dawned on me that frustration is exactly what the story is trying to accomplish.
