    1. First off so that readers do not get confused as I did , this is not part of the children's series Go Girls. It's part of a different series with a similar name - Go Girls Chronicles. The other thing is each book in The Go Girls Chronicles can be read as a stand-alone story as they each feature a different girl and sport. In Race Girl , as you can guess from the cover - the sport is Equestrian and Horse-riding. Those young tweens and teens that live in New Zealand and Australia, will love Race G [...]

    2. *3.5 Stars*This book took me a while to read due to my busy schedule. However, since I read this book nice and slow - I got to appreciate the plot more. I loved Tully, Fia, and Brandon, they were my favorite characters. This book is based in Australia which I think is super cool! I loved learning a little about the world of horses through this book. The romance in this book was sweet, but it didn't consume the whole story, which I liked. The last 10% of the book was powerful (at least for me). I [...]

    3. Race girl is an inspiring book that looks into the lives of the brave men and women in the horse racing industry. The real life experiences with love, loss, heartache, adventure, and everything in between. The experiences Tully has are enough to make anyone give up but she strives through everything and comes out on top. It shows how the underdog can always succeed. I love how Leigh brings Clover back and her and Tully be me fast friends. I can't wait for more of the GoGirls chronicles. Amazing. [...]

    4. What a beautiful story that is really well written with a great mix of characters. The story following two years in Tully's life where she wants to make it as a jockey, this was a subject I knew nothing about so for me it was very interesting. Tully's life is anything but easy but through the writing the author shows us her determination, her integrity, courage, loyalty and her capacity for love. Although Brandon is her love interest for me he takes a back seat in the story and I was glad becaus [...]

    5. Race GirlLeigh HuttonGo Girl SeriesContemporaryYAReview: Tully Athens loves horses and it has always been her dream to be a jockey. Unfortunately, after her mother’s fall from a horse, Tully is terrified of horses. She is afraid to get thrown and killed like her mother. Then along comes this smoking hot guy who makes her competitive side emerge and helps her to overcome her fears. The only problem is that, Brandon Weston, is the enemy. His father is her father’s neighbor and he has been tryi [...]

    6. **Review posted on The Warlock's Gray Book ""Can I get a hell yeah for this amazing story of victory, determination, adventure, love and loss?!Ok, so I’ll start with the negative, and end with the positive, alright? I didn’t expect much from this book, but one of the things I did hope to have was fast-paced, heart-racing action, horse races that would shatter my mere reading experience and turn me into a witness to the Melbourne Cup!!! Unfortunately, as you probably guessed, it wasn’t so. [...]

    7. This young adult book elicited a lot of emotions from me even as an adult. There were times I could feel my heart breaking long with Tully's heart. I felt the racing of my heart when she was on the back of a horse in the barriers. My heart sang with joy as she rode, brought her Dahlia back from the possible brink of death, and then it felt like there was a vice around it, squeezing as the neighbor showed up, threatening to take over their farm. Where the title of the book comes from, you will fi [...]

    8. Leigh has a knack for making you feel like you are there amongst it, in the middle of the action with her characters. The on track descriptions in this book are brilliant – you really do feel as if you are riding the horses – I could give five stars just for the Race Scenes. You find yourself tearing through the words, like a horse tearing up the turf as it thunders down the track. We meet Tully Athens out on her family’s farm in rural Queensland. After the tragic death of Tully’s mother [...]

    9. ARC kindly provided by Netgalley for an honest review.Wonderful story, perfect for any little girl who loves horses.

    10. Leigh Hutton has proven herself once again as a perfect writer for the coming of age stories full of heroism, love, loss, triumph and of course adventure. In Race Girl, the third book in the Go Girls Chronichles, we meet Tully. A character that is obviously very close to the author's heart, Tully has recenly had her earth shattered around her when her mother suddenly passes during a tragic racing accident. Left to pick up the peices of her life, Tully has to take on some very grown up roles and m [...]

    11. Eh. Don't you hate it when a book leaves an Eh taste in your mouth? It's not so much that the book is bad, but more that you just didn't connect. OK, so some parts of the book are bad, like characters saying to never give up on your cream. Yep. Cream. Not dream. Also there was a weird moment where 'imperious' was 'iimperious'. Seriously, I notice things like this far too much in books that were meant to make it through an editor before print. But Eh.Also, Eh for the romance. Brandon is a bit of [...]

    12. ~~I received this in exchange for my honest opinion~~When I first started this book, I was a little annoyed with it. I had to constantly keep looking words up online to find out what they meant, so that right there left me not wanting to finish the book, but I did. I read on and found Race Girl to be a kind of coming into your own type book. Tully, knew what she wanted to do, and she worked hard for it, only to have the one thing she has always wanted taken away from her. But that doesn't stop h [...]

    13. This book was really great. It felt like when Tully the main character was racing her horse or describing something you were there. I learned a little bit more about different things and it takes a lot more then I thought to be a jockey. We start off with Tully, who has only ever dreamed of being a jockey like her mother who died. Feels it's in her blood. However her father has other ideas for her. They argue because her father just doesn't want to lose his daughter the same way he lost his wife. [...]

    14. Race Girl by Leigh Hutton is a first time Author/Read for me it was a simple yet sweet story of a girl who hopes to make it big someday, as a jockey and dreams of winning the Melbourne Cup. Only things are never that easy when everything around her is crashing down. The loss of her mother has a major impact on Tully's feelings with racing & her father is adamant that she not follow her mother's footsteps.I'm not a horsey person and wasn't sure if i would follow, understand and enjoy the term [...]

    15. ***The book was provide by NetGalley for an ARC***I'll start out by saying that when I requested this book I was unaware it was the 3 in a children book series called "The Go Girls Chronicles"Race girl is beautify written and goes in to great deal what its like to be a girl racing horse. Tulley is a strong girl who has been though so much. She has taken chances and it was wonderful to see her wit her horse. I'm so glad that the author Leigh Hutton brought back Tulley's Clover so they would be co [...]

    16. Loved it! I've now read all three of Leigh Hutton's books and I love her style. It's fast paced and interesting. And she obviously knows her stuff with adventure sports. This book transformed me into the world of living on the land and horse racing. I read the book in 2 days because I couldn't put it down.

    17. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review, as part of a blog tour.I will share my review the day of my tour stop.

    18. Also Posted atSTORY FOR DESSERT. Tully Athens has always dreamed of following in the footsteps of her hero Michelle Payne. 19. I read this book a few months ago, so I might miss out on a few things, but I'll do my best not to :)Firstly, I want to mention how much i appreciate that this book is about horses and horse riding. Maybe it just caters to the horse crazy girl I was when I was younger, but it's hard to find books that are YA and about horses (or maybe I'm just not looking hard enough, who knows)I really liked the first half of the book. I liked seeing Tully build her family's ranch from the ground up, and I also [...]

    20. Tully’s life hasn’t been the same since her mother tragically died during a horse racing accident, and her father has forbidden her from riding competitively for fear she could also end up injured or worse. However, she and her father are strapped for cash and the Weston family want to buy their property, Avalon Downs. Then Tully ends up getting a deal on Dahlia, a young horse in need of some serious TLC. If Tully can save Dahlia, then Dahlia might just be able to save Tully and her father i [...]

    21. Race Girl is the third installment of the Go Girl Chronicles, and it doesn't disappoint.Race Girl is a highly emotional book that made me cry as well as cheer with joy, and considering that I have been experiencing genre burnout with paranormal lately that a good Aussie Read was just what I needed. After Tully's mother tragically dies in a horse race, Tully has a lot of responsibility to shoulder, which I think is too much for someone as young as her to have to take on, her father is slipping awa [...]

    22. Race Girl by Leigh Hutton was a simple yet sweet story of a girl who hopes to make it big someday, out on the track, as a jockey. Only, everything around her is crashing down. This story pans out over about 2 years of the protagonist, Tully's life, from her 16th birthday to a while after her 18th. Plagued by the sadness and uncertainty following her mother's recent death, Tully deals with her fear of riding a horse ever again, after she lost her mum to one. But riding is in her blood, and she can [...]

    23. Race Girl is a story about a sixteen year old girl named Tully and her dreams of becoming an amazing jockey. Her mother is killed in a horse racing accident, which strikes fear into her heart and her father’s. He refuses to let her follow in her mom’s footsteps, however money is tight and the fear of losing their farm outweighs the fear of getting on a horse. As if things weren’t bad enough, Tully finds herself smack dab in the middle of forbidden love. Can she face her fears and pull out [...]

    24. Race Girl is a sweet, coming-of-age tale about Tully Athens. She wants to rule the track like her idol, Michelle Payne, and her own mother. However, she doesn’t quite have the nerve to do it. When an accident on the track kills her mother, she loses all confidence in herself. With the help of her new filly and a gorgeous boy, Tully regains her confidence and finds herself again.Race Girl was a sweet, heartfelt book about a lost and broken girl needing to find herself again. The characters are [...]
