    1. I won’t go into detail about each story as that is already provided for you in the synopsis. The stories found within the pages of this book are solidly told old school tales; Goosebumps for adults. I had a sense that the author was trying to vent some of his own frustrations and concerns through this work. It might have been due to the fact that the stories actually had more than one of the characters being an author. The characters were well done and the author was able to provide just enoug [...]

    2. Demons, a succubus and a man with many faces are just a few of the things that await you in Terry M. West’s What Price Gory? This collection includes eight stories and a sneak preview of an upcoming novella. All of the stories here are good and they get better as the book moves along. The first story is a tale called Car Nex, it’s about a man named Adam who summons a demon and now hopes to stop it before the demon devours all the townspeople. I loved how all of the characters react when Adam [...]

    3. WHAT PRICE, GORY? by Terry M. West. Tonight for your reading pleasure I'll be reviewing a sweet little collection of eeriness, justice and good ol fashioned slapstick in the form of a short story collection by the ever so multi-talented Terry M. West called WHAT PRICE, GORY? A breakdown of the stories involved follows as so: "Car Nex" is an eerie downright spectacular monster tale that lingers. One of my favorites in the series, “Cecil and Bubba Meet Succubus” is about a pair of dimwitted hi [...]

    4. ANOTHER AMAZING AUTHOR!!This was my first read from Terry M. West, he is a popular guy in the genre, I just hadn't discovered him yetw he's pretty damn high on my radar.8 short stories that were all so original and creativet to mention creepy as hell and a blast to read!~ Car Nex has spawned a short story craze with writers vying to put their spin on his creation. A Tasmanian like devil summoned though ancient Latin text that we all know should never be chanted. Ever. I even refused to take Lati [...]

    5. I was given a preview of this book a couple of months ago and although it was an incomplete edition I thoroughly enjoyed what was there. Now that I have had a chance to read and, in some cases re-read, the complete edition I enjoyed it even more. “What Price Gory?” is one of the damned finest collections of short stories I have ever had the privilege to read. Even better than “A Psycho’s Medley”. This is the reason I got into book reviews in the first place. If you are a fan of horror [...]

    6. If you're a fan of short horror stories, you'll love this book. And don't be misled by the cover and title, either. There's plenty of nasty horror, don't get me wrong, but this is not some dumb gore fest. There's a lot of subtlety at play here, and the horror sticks with you well after the gore has washed away. Every one of the stories is excellent. But naturally, I had a few favourites. Of the eight stories, I'll give you my top four 'Held Over' was a truly inspired 'what-if?' concept story, ex [...]

    7. What Price Gory? Your Life…On a dark and stormy night, settle down in front of the fireplace with What Price Gory, by Terry West. The book of horror tales will cause your “hind hairs” to rise and send shivers down your spine. In Car Nex, a small-town man accidentally unleashes a voracious force on his family and his neighbors. In Cecil & Bubba Meet a Succubus, two rednecks meet a paranormal investigator in a strip joint and agree to help him check out a haunted house. Although they didn [...]

    8. WHAT PRICE GORY? is an excellent collection of diverse horror stories. I found "Cecil and Bubba Meet a Succubus" both frightening and funny at times, yet it ended on a rather deep and foreboding note, I couldn't help wonder (and hope) their story wasn't over. Well, the author clears this up at the end of the collection with a "Special Sneak Preview." Then there's "Held Over" a serious story about the business behind the afterlife. I'm not a big fan of zombie stories, but this one was so differen [...]

    9. Terry West's "What Price Gory" is a rollercoaster ride of exceptionally well written short stories. It's impossible for me to pick a favorite among the set - from the ultra violence of 'Car Nex' to the poignant 'Put on a Happy Face', the stories pack a Texas sized wallop. What I particularly like about Mr. West's stories is their setting - many of the stories are set in the rural south, and he nails life away from the big city perfectly. If you're looking for horror short stories with style and im [...]

    10. I think this was a good book. It's a collection of short horror stories. They kind of remind me of the Twilight Zone. I recommend this one for anyone who likes to read short stories and likes horror stories. I think my favorite of the short stories was Car Nex. I enjoyed the twists of the story.

    11. In Awe!I am close to speechless over this collection! I feel in love with every story and each character. This book shows such a range in writing and it's making me a wee bit obsessed with Terry-yay!!

    12. Excellent collection of engaging stories! An excellent collection that you should definitely add to your library.

    13. Once again, I wasn't much impressed by Mister West. I remember being very excited about this collection when I got it. Two or three stories in I'd nearly lost interest all together. By the end, I only finished because I hate giving up halfway through, especially on a short story collection. I like to push on in hopes that there's one really great story that makes it all worth in. In my opinion, that story wasn't here.

    14. I usually don't like horror tales books. There are so many and most turn out to be awful. They're full of silly stories that either don't make much sense or try to gross you out and they lose all direction. Happy for me, after reading the first story titled: Car Nex, I found an appreciation for Terry M. West. The story was good and I happily ved forward in my reading. The ebook's not very long, less than 200 pages, and full of stories that present to the reader a mental movie similar to Creep Sho [...]

    15. This is a book of short stories. Not my favorite things to read, but these were above average horror stories. Don't let the cheesy title throw you off.
