    1. 3.25/5Nora Roberts is a master of storytelling. She always knows what the readers want. Captive Star is the second installment in Stars of Mithra series, another one of her early writings. In this book, we meet Jack Dakota, a stubborn bounty hunter, and M.J. O'Leary, an attractive, feisty redhead.Jack and M.J. are a perfect match. I loved that he saw through all her tricks while she always knew what he was up to. I also enjoyed the banter between them, so funny and sparkling.Even though the sexu [...]

    2. The "I love you's" came waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too early. Waay waay waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too early.

    3. I wasn't sure I would like this book because I wasn't a fan of the hero at first, Jack is rude, crude bounty-hunter but he was perfectly suited to a totally non-traditional MJ.MJ has grown up in bars since her family runs one, and she too owns one and tends bar there, she is modern and tough as nails so when Jack comes to pick her up on some bounty claims she fights back and then both of them run into someone trying to kill her.Jack doesn't know what went wrong but he was given false information [...]

    5. Read Hidden Star first. It's slightly better and will give you what to expect from this one in terms of mildly supernatural insta-love and suspense expectations.I loved M.J. and Jake. One of Roberts' strengths is in building characters who just belong together. This alone makes the whole predestined insta-love work. And for all I say this is like the first, the differences in the main characters also make it its own story and enjoyable in their own right. Their relationship has a rockier start, [...]

    6. Ok did aliens take over Nora Robert's body while she was writing this trilogy? While I don't love all of her books generally she at least has likable characters and her trademark writing style. This book was completely empty of that style read very dry as far as i got. And the characters! I mean in the first book i wasn't fond of the heroine and could give or take the hero but this herot so much. He starts off with a rant against the justice system that is borderline conspiracy theory and defini [...]

    7. It should have been a piece of cake. All he had to do was pick up some pretty little bail jumper who wasn't even bothering to hide. But cynical bounty hunter Jack Dakota soon discovered there was nothing easy about spitfire M.J. O'Leary--or about this case.Someone had set them both up. Now they were handcuffed together and on the run from a pair of hired killers. And M.J. wasn't talking--not even when Jack found a gigantic blue diamond hidden in her purse. Everything told Jack this alluring vixe [...]

    8. M.J. O'Leary is an easy target for an expert bounty hunter like Jack Dakota. She's not even trying to hide, waltzing around town with apparently no worry on her mind. Well, she's about to see that skipping a bond should be a worry.Unfortunately for both of them, M.J. didn't skip a bond, but it's obvious someone's getting pretty desperate to get their hands on her for forging enough papers and siccing a bounty hunter on her. Or maybe they just want the blue diamond, worth a fortune on its own and [...]

    10. 3.5 stars.Second book of the trilogy. The hero is the bounty hunter tricked by the bad guy into locating the heroine (who received a priceless blue diamond from her best friend) and inadvertently saving her from being killed. It was like one of those Hollywood movies with a hand-cuffed mouthy female lead and a tough guy in a junkyard car going cross-country evading the bad guys whilst looking for answers. Nothing very original but still a light, easy read.

    11. Not a good start for M.J. O'Leary when she is taken by bounty hunter Jack - but they soon realise that he has been used to find her for someone else. It takes a bit of time for them to start trusting each other, especially when M.J. Is wondering why her friend Bailey has sent her a big diamond and to,d her to keep it with her all the time. A few run ins and sparks flying lead to a good, fast moving story

    12. Three Stars, Three women, Three Men and a Devil. I accidentally read the 3rd book first, just didn't look. No matter how you read them you get the full story. However I recommend reading in order. I love that there is some Irish in this one. The magic continues with the tale of Gods and Stones. As always I thoroughly enjoy reading Nora Roberts.

    13. Great read! Can't help but love Nora Roberts! She definitely didn't disappoint in this one. Loved the heroine. Just the right amount of sass, strength, & vulnerability.

    14. Loved it but frustrated on not knowing what happened to Grace. Both Hidden Star and this one were in same book with no mention of third book. Found it on here and will read it.

    15. Let me premise this by saying that I like Nora Roberts and I always enjoy the ride. She is a good writer and her books are fast reads. But this couple!! I like them both as separate characters. Not sure if this is a staple in all of her books, but they "fell in love" waaaaaaaaaaaaay too fast. I understand that they came to rely on each other very quickly due to their running from the bad guys situation, but come on! While they are both independent people, he was such a jerk. In the beginning, I [...]

    16. Not as good as the first book but still a fun read. Loved M.J. with her kick-ass attitude and skills. Jake the bounty hunter was a pretty unlikable character at first. Not sure a real life Jake would have given M.J.'s story any kind of credibility. Can understand the forced proximity motel thing working some magic for the couple but the "I Love You"'s came a little too soon. A lot of action and mystery for a romance story but I'm not complaining.Kindle e-book. Bought the series on sale.========= [...]

    17. This is the second in a series of three by Nora Roberts. So far the Stars of Mithra series has not been a disappointment in the least.M. J. O'Leary is a witty spitfire who is happy running her own business until her life is turned upside down by a bounty hunter named Jack Dakota. Jack has been sent to catch M.J. who is supposedly a bail jumper. He soon discovers this isn't the case, but that discovery only brings to light more questions instead of answering them.M.J. and Jack only have each othe [...]

    18. Jack Dakota has been hired to pick up a bail jumper - easy for a bounty hunter. The only problem is that M.J. O'Leary has not skipped bail and she doesn't take down easily. When they're both jumped by a big guy with a big gun, they reluctantly run - together. Jack finds the diamond her friend Bailey had sent her the day before and eventually they agree to work together to uncover the killers and Bailey.

    19. Very obvious that this one of Roberts's earlier efforts. The plot was moderately interesting but the writing was definitely lacking. Her writing has improved greatly over the years. This is the second book in a series about three diamonds and three major female characters.

    20. Jake Dakota is a skip tracer and has been asked to bring in one M.J. O'Leary who (according to the papers his boss gave him) shot her accountant lover and then skipped town. Only problem is, when he finds her, the information starts not adding up.

    21. This was great. I had read the first book awhile ago, so I was a bit confused throughout, but so were the characters so maybe that was best.I really liked M.J. and Jack, but I wasn't a huge fan of the villain.

    22. GoodIt is a very good book. It has great characters and a good plot. I am anxious to read the last book to see how this series ends.

    23. This was the worst book I've ever read, like, 50 of Grey was better than this. The main characters were incredibly unlikable to me and I couldn't connect to them.

    25. Captive StarThis book follows the pattern of Secret Star. This was also an enjoyable book written as only Nora Roberts writes them
