    1. I liked parts of this book more than others. The reviews said that there would be funny parts but I just couldn't find the humor in it. Poor Jolene has escaped her difficult childhood and irascible mother in the scrubby badlands of northwest Texas in the fictional town of Kickapoo for the serenity and beauty of Colorado. However, things related to her mother keep dragging her back to Kickapoo. There were few to no surprises in this rather predictable book and I doubt that I will read more books [...]

    2. Good story, easy and quick read, not a book that I couldn't put down but I was interested in the ending and the story was entertaining. The depiction of Lucille's stubbornness got a little ridiculous in the repetitiveness of it.

    3. A highly entertaining and fascinating read with twists, turns, and surprises that really kept me on my toes and turning the page even when I knew I should be taking myself to sleep land. I would definitely recommend this book at anyone and everyone for an entertaining escape from the daily grind

    4. I feel like this one deserves 3 stars, despite missing that final polish. Awkward wordings and missing or extra punctuation.
