Dr. Pike Martin is upset when Daisy Denmore doesn’t trust his official opinion on her dog after all the trouble he went to take care of her when she got drunk at the last party they both attended. 3. Clare’s Review Daisy and Pike, two well grounded characters that aren’t afraid to show both faults and good points or hide the way they feel about things.I, personally, found the book hard to get into. Whether it’s because it’s the second in a series and I hadn’t read the first, I’m not sure, but a lot was alluded to something that had happened a week before the story started as the reason why Daisy’s acting the way she does. 4. So much emotion packed into such a short story! Daisy is so lost and just doesn't know how to even reach for happiness, much less where to look - and Pike is so afraid of what he feels and how he reacts to her that he doesn't know what to do except keep her distance. But sometimes God shows us His will and leads us in a way we don't expect or want to goy to find that His will is indeed better than our own.Wonderful story!

    5. I read this to kell an hour. Very short book. The author tried to get way too much into a short story and it was very rushed, therefore had no depth.
